Do you understand that when people try to leave domestically abusive relationships, they are often under threat of death/harm because their partner wants to control them? You don’t leave a situation in which you are literally being controlled/manipulated, it’s nearly impossible to leave?

I think you might need a passport but that isn’t hard to get. Then it’s just an airline ticket or a bus ticket for Mexico or Canada. I’m sure someone will take you.

Do you happen to know, also, how difficult it is to become a legal resident of another country? I promise you, it’s a lot more complicated than just getting a passport and a ticket out of town. “Just leave” isn’t viable when you’re talking about asking another country to let you live there – even if you’re claiming asylum, the process can take months – years, even – and is seldom cheap.
