aka people who hear voices and and communicate with angels and demons and God and ufos and who don’t feed or clothe themselves don’t deserve ANY form of abuse even the tiniest, slightest, faintest fraction more than someone who was “really sane” and ended up in an institution “by mistake”
furthermore, the ability to institutionalize and abuse “innocent” people wouldn’t exist if the ability to institutionalize and abuse “actually crazy” people didn’t exist
but my bottom line is being “crazy” does not make you worthy or deserving of abuse in any way
I kind of have a love/hate relationship with long-form web fiction. Like, I totally understand that most such projects are literally the first thing the author has ever written, and that consequently certain allowances for the learning curve have to be made, but that doesn’t make slogging through eighty thousand words of senseless bullshit to get to the part where the story finally figures out what to do with itself any less painful!

B) What’s bad about having a mental illness anyway? I have depression. I take pills for it and do CBT and go to therapy and shit. Doesn’t in any way define me as a person, it’s just a problem I have. Same with transsexualism. I have, I take pills for it and do a lot of other stuff. Neither will ever truly go away and it’s all about doing your best to minimize symptoms, whether by altering your body or your behavior or other shit.

Dis-order, something out of order. It’s not a very usual impulse to be of the opposite sex. Most people are just fine the way they are, genitals and secondary sexual characteristics-wise.

I got diagnosed with dyslexia in elementaty school and it’s a learning *disorder*. None of the professionals(you have to do through a therapist, a social worker and a special needs teacher) treated it like a bad thing. They would just explain you how it’s different.
And you don’t cure disorders you MANAGE them. You manage autism and dyslexia with therapy, you manage gender dysphoria by transitioning. It’s the same principle.

Dudes, I voted Green in 2016 (I live in a blue state so it didn’t matter~ as much as it could’ve, and I TRULY thought HRC was going to win by a lot) and I regret it sfm. I fell for all that bullshit. I’m way to the left of the Democratic Party ideologically but this is a goddamn emergency. Marginalized people are in danger–and we all are, to a lesser and less-immediate extent. Just fucking vote, and don’t vote for ANY Republicans. There’s so much at stake.
