Lance is a character that a lot of fans have complained hasn’t been focused on enough, hasn’t gotten any respect, hasn’t had flashbacks when everyone else has, etc, etc. I don’t necessarily disagree, but I think the reason for that isn’t Lance being ignored so much as the nature of his character arc being different from the others.

A lot of the other characters have had mini-arcs that begin and conclude within a set period – Pidge’s search for Matt and her father, Keith accepting the role of Black Paladin, Allura’s whole thing with Lotor, and so on. Because of this, the other characters appear to get more attention and have more development (and I’m not saying they don’t in some cases) when they take the spotlight in the episodes that these mini-arcs climax in. For example, The Reunion was entirely Pidge-centric because that episode was the payoff for Pidge’s search for Matt, The Black Paladins was all about Keith and Shiro because that was the conclusion of the stories of Keith accepting the role of leader and the whole Kuron plot. Lance’s arc isn’t like that.

For whatever reason, the writers have chosen to do something different with Lance where his arc is one continuous through line that spans the whole series while the development of the other characters comes in a mini-arc here and a mini-arc there.

Lance actually has a lot of different things going on. The reason he doesn’t appear to get focused on as much as some people would like is that these things have yet to pay off. And since s8 is the final season, this is when that all has to happen.

Lance’s main arc is about overcoming his insecurities and the various things that spin out of that, such as considering himself the team’s weak link, thinking he’d have nothing to offer Allura and feeling inferior to Lotor. This is an arc that started at the very beginning of the show, the payoff for which has yet to occur, and after that much build up, the climax should be huge.

On top of this, there are several other things we know are going to happen from what the actors have said. The infamous Lance sobbing scene is still coming, so we know something big involving Lance will no doubt happen to cause that (I don’t know about you, but I’m bracing myself for Veronica’s death). We also know there’s a scene where Shiro helps Lance deal with his insecurities, which we haven’t gotten yet either. This part is just me speculating, but I think he’s going to HAVE to have some kind of confrontation with Lotor, though whether there’s an actual fight between them (please!) remains to be seen. Oh, and then there’s the little issue of the Allurance payoff, which is another arc that’s been on a slow burn for the entire series and is still waiting for its conclusion.

So basically, I expect Lance to have a very big role in s8 because, while most of the other characters are more or less fully formed by now, Lance still has a ton of stuff to wrap up.

another thing that kind of annoys me about Toy Story 4 releasing its teasers on the same damn day as the Detective Pikachu trailer is that it reeks of arrogance on Disnar’s part–like no matter what they do, everyone HAS to love it.

No, Disney. You and your second arm fucked with the one franchise I thought had already passed on 9 years ago and everyone but the diehard Pixar fans aren’t excited for. You even brought ANDY’S MOM back somehow.

What was the point of the third one, then? The ending’s stupid because Forky has to be crammed into the world now–which could be done via shorts instead of another full-length film–but no…worse, the entire setup feels like tear bait coupled with “it’s Buzz Lightyear again–except he’s an eating utensil!”

Shit, all creators have a thumbprint, but yours is pretty obvious now.

They really REALLY should have stopped at 3. 4 is just idiotic.

You’re probably wrong but go off I guess

I’m average looking at best. Which in and of itself is fine but in an incredibly superficial environment like online dating if you’re not an 8+ you aren’t getting any responses.

It’s okay anyways 90% of people on online dating sites are douche bags only looking for casual sex.

And those 8/10s you keep seeing? Half of them are photoshopped.

I hated everything about online dating. Nobody matched their profile and worst of all, I couldn’t actually get any real dating. It always seemed to jump to a “U up?” Text at 1 AM.

It infuriated me. Requests for dates when denied or unanswered but a hook up was always on the table.

Online marriage sites are just as bad if not worse because at least the dating sites are honest about their intentions. On places like shaadi.com or (community) matrimony you get shit like –

Fathers writing their sons bio/Mothers writing their daughters bio and not even trying to hide it.

People straight up lying about their community/how much money they make/whatever or making fake marriage profiles JUST TO GET THEIR KIDS MARRIED

Already married people on the site

Gold diggers of BOTH genders but male gold diggers are more common

The saddest part is the husband or wife in question isn’t even involved – ALL this wtfery is done by the boys/girls PARENTS and they’re just a pawn for their lies.

No wonder young people these days are so anti marriage.

Online dating is basically the equivalent of a grindfest MMO. The content of the profile is repetitive, the optional pay models are mostly cosmetic, and the matches and replies are incremental rewards that keep you hooked. Also means you have to pick a character class and min-max the shit out of your own profile, while churning out messages at the optimal point between uniqueness and ease of writing. At a certain point you’re not there for your enjoyment anymore, just to see the numbers go up and clear out all the content.

And online marriage sites are old people making characters for their children behind their backs using a walkthrough template “how to make the best character” that they looked at when THEY played the game without being aware that the meta has changed. While also grinding said character on the kids behalf.

And then they act surprised when their kid discovers that a character they had zero input in making is out there on the server and they’ve been saddled with teams they didn’t even know existed hitherto.

Opinions about the ‘eat the rich’ crowd?

lazy people with 0 work ethic who spent their entire lives making dumb decisions, ending up with an unfulfilling min wage job in their late 20s, still insisting on blaming everyone else for their lack of drive to improve.

Also most of them are upper class-rich themselves which makes it even more baffling.

So when someone is poor and speaks out against wealth inequality you call them lazy. And when someone is fairly wealthy and speaks out against it you call them out for not knowing what it’s like to be poor.

You people are idiots

Speaking out against wealth inequality does NOT equal “eat the rich”

Eat the rich is a very specific type of extremist who is less focused on helping the actual poor and more focused on using their hipster liberal arts college professor’s teachings on how “communism is totes good” to make people angry at anyone middle class or higher just for existing.

Poor people need help, but that help needs to be ACTUAL help, bringing down rich people isn’t going to help poor people.
