“And what would a Lord of Winterfell be doing beyond the wall, wearing black?” Ben glares at her. She’s a wildling, what does she know of his uncle, of the legacy he’d borne until it had broken him, of any of it?
“Keep walking,” he tells her, pushing her forward. Lord Commander Snoke will want to hear what she has to say, assuming they can make her talk. And Snoke has a way of making everyone talk.
“We’re going the wrong direction,” she insists. “It’s not us that’s the enemy, it’s them.”
“Them?” Ben jeers at her.
“The Others,” she says heatedly.
Ben only laughs. “Next you’ll be trying to convince me that grumkins and snarks are real.”
“No I won’t,” she retorts. “Those are just children’s stories. The Others are real as you and me. You’ll see.”
Something about the way she says it makes his skin crawl. He stares at her, and she stares back, as fiercely determined as anyone he’s ever met. It’s not us that’s the enemy, she’d said of Maz Kanata’s horde, as plainly as if they weren’t about to descend upon the Kingdoms with blood and steel.
The Wall’s supposed to protect the realms of Men, he thinks. They’re men too. But where had that thought come from.
“Come on,” he says, grabbing her arm. He’ll drag her before Snoke if he has to, and he does his best to settle his mind. He’s a Brother of the Night’s Watch. She’s a Wildling. She’s his enemy. The Others are just fairy stories, designed to scare little children right before bed.
#Reylo AU Week – Day 6 – Crossover AU – Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire
I adore @shmisolo ’s edits so much, always. Just, phenomenal! 😍
It’s even more hilarious because Kit Harrington and Adam Driver when they play as Jon and Kylo look very similar.
