Since some people seem to be impressed by the affection display in Italy and Spain I have a dumb question: do people in other countries share their drinks/food with their friends not caring about who drank or bit before?

me: I’m sure it’s a pretty normal thing everywhere

spoiler: it wasn’t

We do this in Russia as well, at least in my social circle.

Isn’t that…. normal among friends. I mean here I don’t think everyone does that or wants to do that but it’s not abnormal really

Maybe we’re all just a bunch of germaphobes on this side of the pond…

pretty sure that’s normal nearly everywhere, some people just don’t like it. i don’t think it’s a country thing.

I mean among my siblings this is normal but friends, naaaaah… They’ll get on your ass about double dipping lol

In India we have the “yecchal” concept in some orthodox communities, where any food that someone else has touched is… well “yecchal” and thus inedible.

But most of the young generation doesn’t give a shit and “food passing” is a common practice in schools despite multiple places trying to ban it.
