I wish people would get off Twitter for a day and actually have a conversation with their male waiter or male barista or auto mechanic. Just friggin talk to a human male; they aren’t all monsters.

Seriously. Of all the men I’ve met in my life I could count on my fingers the ones that were actually half as terrible as the Internet likes to pretend all men are.

Like most men are ignorant about how to treat women but they aren’t sexist. If you explain to them what to do without being mean they’ll understand.

BOYS can be sexist, but so are girls and that’s different because children are just all around immature.

In fact I think tumblr is basing its view on grown men on the behaviour of middle school boys. That can be the only explanation for why they see men the way they do.

Of course, Tumblr’s average age is around, what, 15? Or less. And they pretend they already cracked the code of humankind and know better than everybody else. I mean, at 15 you’re not a toddler and you’re on the long way of growing up to become an adult (that’s why school and education are so important, so you can be ready for your adult life), so you’re not completely unaware of the world around you like – paradoxically enough – Tumblr also love to imply, but yeah, you’re way too young to start generalizing and hating, amongst a lot of other things you should wait to be adult for. Or maybe you’re way too old, since the “ew men” mindset of tumblrinas is basically a kindergarten war.

Dunning Kruger effect. They say the 10-19 age group has the most self confidence and the lowest self esteem all at once. They think they have the entire world all figured out but at the same time are hyper conscious of their image to the point where they think everyone is watching them.

Unfortunately most of tumblrs age group is not minors, but people in their 20s. And they haven’t let go of this mentality that they SHOULD have abandoned in high school.
