I find it so irritating that Tumblr did this huge purge of blogs to combat a growing problem of porn bots and and pedo trash, and yet the same problems still persist. So many artists and completely innocent blogs have been lost for nothing.
Its because the makes of the bots adapt to the changes. If people start blocking certain words then they change them.
You don’t just do it one time its an ongoing thing.
One thing I really don’t get about hard left, SJW types who continue to insist on shitting on Stan Lee (even after the man’s death) for not seeing the point in making Peter Parker in the comics gay or bi for some cheap, faux-representation, is that they never consider this:
Canonically, Marvel is an endless multiverse, technically making every cartoon, non-main series comic, movie, live-action TV show, and what-if story canon, even if they each take place in their own individual universes. Plus, there’s already dozens of fan interpretations and AUs which are basically spiritual successors to the “What-if” stories, only done by fans. So taking all of this into account, you could easily just make your own separate Marvel universe, and make it a universe where Peter Parker is bi, or another race, or even create your own character who isn’t Peter Parker, but somehow ends up becoming the Spider-Man/Spider-Woman of their own universe, and they can be the ones who are gay or bi or Hispanic or Black or whatever you wish them to be.
With the power of creating your own personal universes at your fingertips, you have your cake and eat it too, and the best part is that since you’re the one writing it, you can tell the stories you wish to exactly as you want them to.
The comic book industry is full of problems, and sometimes, if we want to see the stories we want to see become a reality, we’re gonna have to do it ourselves. It may not be “official”, but again, sometimes we don’t need big, complicated companies and industries to create everything for us. Sometimes, with enough care and passion put into them, stories made by fans, for fans, can be just as good as official works.
