Negging is an act of emotional manipulation
whereby a person makes a deliberate backhanded compliment or otherwise
flirtatious remark to another person to undermine their confidence and
increase their need of the manipulator’s approval.
So it would be like a douche at a bar telling a lady, “You look pretty for a bigger girl” to try and get her to want to be with him.
This is the funniest she ra criticism I’ve seen in my life
“There are no longer any empowered straight white males on the show”
It’s a valid complaint you whiny bitch. Are you so devoid of sympathy that you’re looking at someone saying the same shit you always say and thinking ‘haha fuck you I don’t care’ without a shred of irony?
Imagine if they said there were no empowered women, or no empowered black people. There would be riots.
But because its those evil hetties, its all good.
Exactly. They’re so fucking fickle, they’ll totally support flat-out prejudice when it appeals to their interests
I’m glad most people don’t consider the She-Ra reboot to even be related to the real She-Ra series.
They couldn’t even get the rights to the characters, so what did they do? They made the characters as unrelated to the source material as possible.
It’s like wanting to reboot Garfield, but because you couldn’t get the official rights to the characters, you make John a black obese guy, you make Garfield a purple giraffe who hates weekends and loves cucumbers, you make Oddie a crippled horse with one front left leg and one right back leg, and you make Arlene a Hispanic cricket.
But just because you want to still call it Garfield, you just slap that name on there and call it a day.
Exactly people aren’t upset that some characters are gay, people are upset that the art style sucks and it has nothing to do with the original show.
It is perfectly reasonable expect someone who allegedly hates some aspect of society to do everything they can to avoid participating in that aspect.
For instance, if you are a fucking commie then it is understandable that you need to purchase food.
But an iPhone? Brand name clothing?
Fuck no, you deserve the ridicule.
Apple products are sold primarily on prestige alone.
They’re the epitome of the negative side of capitalism, which is the production of products sold on vacuous and irrelevant qualities that add nothing to their intended purpose. It’s like complaining over the price of branded products while there’s cheaper competing variety, but goddamn you just gotta have that kellogs branded cereal with your red labeled cokecola while typing on your latest iphone which you stood in line for hours to get on release day while still holding a perfectly good and up to date phone on your person.
The fact that the Bors comic is applied so uncritically while whining about people being uncritically minded about engaging in the market is rather hilariously hypocritical.
Cuba continues to have the rest of the world GAGGING!
#WorldAIDSDay
Didn’t they “eliminate” mother-child AIDS by sequestering pregnant women with aids until they died?
Cuba isn’t a great place guys. Stop acting like it is.
As part of the initiative, the country has worked to ensure early access to prenatal care, HIV and syphilis testing for both pregnant women and their partners, treatment for women who test positive and their babies, caesarean deliveries and substitution of breastfeeding. These services are provided as part of an equitable, accessible and universal health system in which maternal and child health programs are integrated with programs for HIV and sexually transmitted infections.
“Cuba’s success demonstrates that universal access and universal health coverage are feasible and indeed are the key to success, even against challenges as daunting as HIV,” said PAHO Director, Dr Carissa F. Etienne. “Cuba’s achievement today provides inspiration for other countries to advance towards elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis”.
In order to reduce the mother-to-child transmission rate of both of these, an initiative was set up in 2010 that improved access to testing and treatment for these infections, caesarian deliveries and breastfeeding substitutes. These services, which form part of Cuba’s universal health system, are being implemented in a number of other countries and are demonstrably helping towards the global target of less than 40,000 new infections annually.
1. Being non-straight doesn’t eliminate the possibility of holding homophobic views(however, usually those people either have a severe case of internalized homophobia or they’re narcissists). Thankfully, I’m not homophobic. However, I WOULD criticize both straight and non-het people if they were doing something messed up. But I wouldn’t generalize them, bc..
2. Generalization is wrong. I’ve met cringey straight people. I’ve met cringey non-het people as well. But I’ve also met hella cool and down-to earth non-het and straight ppl. Not all het people want you dead and are dying to quote Leviticus up your ass.
3. Non-bigoted straight people are not responsible for the actions the bigoted part of their community does. There’s a huge difference between understanding that conversion therapy is wrong(and trying to make it illegal) and acting like you hold as much blame as the cunts who made it legal and/or justify it. A lot of non-het people act like every single straight person helped kill Harvey Milk or as if all straight people contributed to the murder of gay ppl in the streets during the previous century.
4. No one must be obliged to be political about this. This has nothing to do with privilege or lack thereof. Being an activist takes a lot of effort, time and shit. Not everyone has even the fucking TIME or ENERGY to do it. Also, that crap drains the fuck out of you because you are forced to deal with dumb cunts on both sides and you have to debate a lot. What one must be, though, is accepting of queer people.
5. There’s nothing wrong with criticizing non-straight people. A lot of people do cringeworthy things. And even if they belong to a minority, said people must be called out. But ONLY those who do said cringeworthy shit should be held accountable, not every single person. There’s a difference between “man shall not lie with man” and “pride parades are biphobic and hypersexualized lately”.
6. By doing all of that “all hetties are shit” crap, you’re giving homophobic people one fuck of an opportunity to shit on non-het people and possibly even do something to reverse the progress that has been made.
7. Fetishism of non-het people is lame as fuck. Oh, the good old days when non-het people were tryna show how they’re just like straight people. Too bad they’re gone, replaced by those when queer people act like being gay/bi/pan is a fucking accomplishment, like writing a book or climbing to the top of a mountain is. Sorry, but you didn’t choose to not be straight. And you being non-straight doesn’t make you special.
8. The LGBT+ community has its lame sides as well. Your idealization won’t save you from people calling out on your bullshit and showing some negative statistics about non-het relationships(that also exist in het relationships) to your dumb ass.
9. Neither non-het, nor straight people need to agree with you on everything. Deal with it.
10. The “non-het people can define what is homophobic” isn’t perfect. I could say that people shipping het couples is bigoted. Would you still believe me, even if it’s not true?
100% blame queer theory and the fact that every single proponent was shitting their pants at it becoming as obsolete as phrenology in late 2012 and early 2013.
Also straight trans people exist. Do you guys hate THEM too?
Or are you basically implying that you think trans people who are straight aren’t REALLY straight because trans people are a “different gender”?
The reason why saying “straight culture™” or “this is the most heterosexual thing i’ve ever seen” when it comes to toxic or abusive relationships isn’t good is because
1. It normalizes the idea that relationships between a man and a woman are inherently toxic and abusive or that it’s okay for relationships between a man and a woman to be toxic and abusive and
2. it erases the truth that abuse happens just as often in homosexual relationships as it does in heterosexual relations.
Both those things lead to people not recognizing abuse or staying in abusive relationships out of the notion that what is happening is acceptable. So stop it. Abuse and toxicity are not “Straight culture”. They’re filthy things that can happen to anyone.
