Why is it on Tumblr Mobile™ you can close the app and open it 3 days later and still be on the same spot of your dash, but then other times you switch out of the app to respond to a text, and when you immediately come back, it’s gone, your family is gone, your house is gone, your dignity is gone.
also yeah the best feature tumblr has (or lacks, i guess) is the inability to see other people’s follower count. not knowing how many followers anyone has makes this site more fun it’s easier to pretend we’re all just like, hanging out in a cave together.
“Logging companies keen to exploit Brazil’s rainforest have been accused by human rights organisations of using gunmen to wipe out the Awá, a tribe of just 355.”
There is nothing necessarily WRONG with gender roles, but we shouldn’t be forced to follow them if we don’t want to, and women and men who don’t act like typical men and women exist.
And sometimes we need to break gender roles if the situation calls for it. If your car breaks down you can’t scream “I’m a girl I can’t fix this” and run for a guy to help you. If you’re short on food you can’t say “I’m a guy, I can’t cook” and think you can just run to a girl for that.
The problem doesn’t come from gender roles in themselves, it’s forcing men and women to follow them even at the detriment of themselves and thus making them rely on others to do things they could otherwise do on their own.
But at the same time there are people having children who really, really shouldn’t. Like anti-vaxxers, uber fundies who think religion is more important than their child’s future, those parents who raise their children as “theybies and such, and people who are just incompetent at parenting in general.
If people telling other people how to raise kids who hate kids exist, people having kids who really shouldn’t have them also exist.
I never said I was oppressed, but I know what real oppression LOOKS LIKE. I know people who are actually oppressed, I have relatives who are oppressed. And what these people are complaining about isn’t oppression.
