haha isn’t it so great that we live in a modern world where silly old traditions are replaced
I never understood leaving the baby in a separate room from the parents. Like if the baby falls out of its crib, or cries, or whatever, the parents would NEVER KNOW unless a baby monitor was installed. And in situations like these time is of the essence so having a baby in a separate room would mean the parents have to WASTE TIME running to that room, so the baby is hurt for longer.
The breast feeding thing however may be situational because in this day and age you need two incomes to support a child and not every woman can produce breast milk. However breast pumps exist so working mothers can keep their milk in the fridge and feed it from a bottle.
School isn’t actually meant to teach you real life skills, it’s actually meant to get you used to waking up early and going to a boring and miserable job every day.
A lot of people read this and think it’s just juvenile shit kids complain about. But this is literally how mass education started. The necessity of disciplining formerly farming people, used to setting their own schedules, into the rhythms of the industrial economy, was why mass education was born.
The education system seriously needs to change. Considering the number of “gifted kids” who become totally washed up or burnouts when they get older, and the number of “gone cases” “back benchers” or “idiots” who become successful it’s safe to say success in school doesn’t always translate to life success.
I mean just LOOK at South Korean students, the entire country is stone cold proof of this. They have the highest test scores in the world, but also the highest suicide rates (with the average age of suicide attempts being TWELVE, that should tell you something). And many of its “class toppers” wind up in clerical, repetitive, corporate drone jobs with low pay.
Schools are putting more of an emphasis on creating compliant robots than on creating well rounded individuals. This, in modern society, cannot go on.
I know this is going to sound like one of those “typical whiny ace posts” or wtf ever, but I’m sick and tired of people not saying it: Allosexuals are literally the oppressors of asexual individuals. That’s right, I’ll say it again:
Allosexuals are the oppressors of asexuals.
They literally, automatically, have privilege over us because they’re allo. They’re out oppressors. Saying that Allosexuals aren’t the oppressors of asexuals or saying they don’t have privilege over asexuals is exactly like saying that straights don’t oppress the LGBTQIAA+ community. It’s exactly like saying the rich don’t oppress the poor. Whites don’t oppress POC. Men don’t oppress women.
Don’t those statements sound awful? They’re LGBTQIAA+phobic, classist, racist, and sexist. Saying that Allosexuals (ESPECIALLY exclusionists) don’t oppress and hold privilege over asexuals and aromantics is aphobic. It’s just like the examples up there.
It can be hard to admit and understand that you hold privilege over other groups and that you oppress other groups, but one Allosexuals come to terms with that, they can be good allies, inclusionists, and no longer be one of our oppressors.
Like I said, I know that nasty exclusionists and allos are going to turn this post around and try to claim I’m just another whiny ace inclusionist – but it’s the truth.
Bullying asexuals…. LIKE A BOSS!!!!!!! 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Anyways straight/cis people don’t inherently oppress LGBT folks
White people dont inherently oppress non white folks
Men don’t inherently oppress women
Notice a pattern?
Can a majority group oppress a minority group? Yeah, absolutely they can. But being in a majority group doesn’t automatically mean you’re oppressive.
