do you ever get in those moods where you don’t feel like reading and you don’t feel like being on the internet and you don’t feel like watching a show and you don’t feel like sleeping and you don’t feel like existing in general

I used to get those days too often, as I’ve always suffered from anxiety. Once in awhile they can be a bummer, but the real problem starts when they occur more frequently. Anxiety and depression are like snowballs rolling downhill – you let them keep rolling, they get bigger and bigger.

Things I did to eliminate those days:

Exercise and meditation and eating healthy food are the best remedies. Build your body, make it strong. Build your mind. Make it strong.

Eat with a purpose – treat food like medicine, and don’t poison yourself by overdosing on it or eating shit.

Wake up early. Go for a run – I have grade for arthritis in my major joints, so I have to swim. Lift some weights – I do isometrics with a physical therapist to get through it with arthritis, and it HURTS, but it’s worth it.

Go to yoga.

Religious? Practice your faith, pray!

Are you an atheist? Do some guided meditation – Sam Harris has an excellent series specifically tailored to atheists.

Clean your room/house – get rid of the clutter in your life.

Avoid porn – it’s the emotional equivalent of junk food.

Don’t neglect intimacy in your life – human contact is important. Hold hands with your SO, cuddle, do stuff together. Eat together at a dinner table with no electronic media. Read a book together, and I mean read it to each other out loud – engage with your SO’s mind and soul.

Spend time with friends. Develop new friendships.

Do something for other people – charity work, anything.

Don’t constantly flood your life with politics and bad news.

Live with purpose

Be happy

The midterms

I hope that every single person who voted republican in this mid term dies. I hope it’s painful and slow.

Imagine being this brainwashed. Imagine potentially triggering people who are suicidal.

Can’t relate.

How does this make me brainwashed?

Also, you control your own body, if you choose to vote republican, then thats the choice you made. You cant accidentally vote republican, so honestly, if that triggers people who voted republican, good. I hope it does. Actual lives were on the line.

You’re so caught up in the Left’s and the media’s rhetoric, you tell people to die a slow painful death. You don’t see how fucked up & brainwashed that is? Okay.

You’re a shitty human being for suicide baiting. Republicans are also human & have lives.

OP, I hope you grow up and stop being a cunt.

Looks like we’re both going to be disappointed.

People are now going to vote republican BECAUSE of douche bags like OP. I hope you’re happy.

Because I still see people defending a woman for trivializing an issue as serious as rape for her own personal gains, and even turning her questionable actions into a trend:

tenaflyviper:

In this country, false accusations of rape are a legitimate issue (the “2%” number claimed to represent false accusations of rape is horribly incorrect, and should never be cited as genuine).

In this country, we’re actually willing to create legislation that makes it even easier for a man to be convicted of rape with zero evidence.  This literally goes against an individual’s legal rights.

In this country, male students are now wary of interacting with female students at all, because they now have a justified fear of having their lives ruined over hearsay.

Because of this, the leading organization devoted to the aid of rape victims now openly discourages the teaching of “rape culture” on college campuses.

In this country, we’re willing to damn a person in nationwide print without even investigating into the truth of the story (and don’t even whine about this being a wiki link, because you damn well know that links to all relevant sources/references are posted at the bottom of the page).

In this country, people are actually willing to create false stories of sexual abuse/assault just for the sake of fleeting internet popularity.  Accusations are often lodged against anyone with any level of online “fame”, and sometimes the accuser has already done it multiple times beforeSome people will even willingly make up false stories about sexual assault against children.

In this country, a student can end up losing out on a promising career due to a false accusation.

In this country, a man can spend decades in jail due to a false accusation

In this country, we’ve even deemed it acceptable to kill another person caught in the act of rape.

In this country, a man can be BEATEN TO DEATH BY AN ANGRY MOB due to a false accusation.

But please–continue to insist that we live in a “rape culture” when rape is so despised that a person can even be found innocent of it by a court of law, yet still have their future destroyed.  Tell me how this is a “rape culture” when a woman can lie about assault, and actually be rewarded for it, and publicized as a “hero”.

If you’re willing to support someone that will lie about rape, then YOU are part of the problem.  YOU are the ones adding to any “culture” regarding rape victims not being taken seriously, because you’re actually APPLAUDING THE KIND OF WOMAN WHO IS GIVING OTHERS A REASON TO BE SUSPICIOUS IN THE FIRST PLACE.  I see the same fucking people glorifying this woman for lying about rape that have openly victim-blamed and harassed other victims.

STOP PRETENDING TO GIVE A FUCK ABOUT RAPE VICTIMS, BECAUSE YOU CLEARLY DON’T.  WHENEVER A VICTIM DISAGREES WITH YOU, YOU’RE MORE THAN WILLING TO EXPRESS A DESIRE TO PHYSICALLY HARM THEM, OR ACTIVELY TRY TO HAVE THEM HARMED BY SOMEONE ELSE.  YOU ONLY GIVE A FUCK ABOUT HAVING SOMETHING TO VALIDATE YOUR OWN PERSONAL RESENTMENT, REGARDLESS OF WHO HAS TO SUFFER FOR IT.

pure:

I don’t think non-voters are morally culpable for the actions of all the politicians (yes both red and blue) who exploit their voting base to appease their donors and whatnot. I blame the politicians. Guilt and shame are not the greatest motivators for people especially since Democrats never extend the logic to their own voting habits. Like if non-voters can be blamed for whatever it is Republicans do then can Democrats be blamed for whatever it is they affirmed when they voted? Did yall protest against expanding drone warfare the past eight years and slashing SNAP benefits? It’s not a productive angle if you want people to vote blue because they can just as easily use it against the people guilting and shaming them lul. As I said before, addressing voter suppression and the criminal amount of dishonesty in the American voting process are better avenues. Not many people are really talking about how, for example, handling the elections in every state cuts across bipartisan lines. The secretary of state handles elections, and there’s an inherent bias due to whatever affiliations they have, especially Republicans who unapologetically act to suppress their opposition. Why are either of the two parties even allowed to be involved in the structural aspect of how people vote? Why isn’t it handled by some sort of non-affiliated, non-partisan institution? Those are questions worth asking, among others.
