the whole “i used to be a teen who hated authority only to grow up to become the authority that hates teens” is a bad bad thing that practically every other generation has fallen into and we all need to make an extremely conscious effort not to repeat the fucking pattern

Studies have shown that the shift starts to happen around age 30. If you’re close to that, make a conscious effort to be open to and accepting of younger people. I’m 31 and paying close attention to how I react to young people and new trends and shit and trying to keep myself from developing those thought patterns.

GEN ZILLENIALS

First of all why is this the most accurate name for the people born between 1990 and 1999

There are other names – Cryptid Gen and Gen K. Although I’d put the date more as 1994-2003 (neither 90s kids nor 2000s kids).

fatphobia is: laughing and making fun of a fat person who’s trying to lose weight

fatphobia isn’t: suggesting a fat person should eat healthier

fatphobia is: discriminating against a fat person because they are fat (i.e. gatekeeping)

fatphobia isn’t: not allowing a fat person on a ride because it would be dangerous for everyone

fatphobia is: dehumanizing fat people

fatphobia isn’t: not dating a fat person because of a preference (there’s plenty of people that enable fat people into killing themselves with food more)

the anti fatphobia movement is just as fatphobic as actual fatphobes. it’s enabling people to kill themselves.

being healthy is not fatphobia. advising a fat person on what food to eat best to loose weight is not fatphobia. a fat person hating themselves is not “internalised fatphobia” (it’s someone realizing what they’re seeing is bad for them and should change)

stop using slow metabolism as an excuse. i have very slow metabolism. am i fat? no I’m not. there’s very few people that actually cannot help being overweight/fat. there’s a lot of people that can (and should) help it.

thicc DOES NOT equal fat

plus size DOES NOT equal fat

overweight DOES NOT equal fat

obese DOES equal fat

most of you are lazy fucks that never learned to cope properly. get a therapist and a dietitian, nutritionist etc. and get healthy. for half of you it is not too late and can still save themselves.

this is not hate, this is the truth. tumblr has a habit of being anti recovery. anti healthy. anti stable mental health. you’ll be doing your body and mind a huge favor by losing weight.

there’s a lot of resources that can and will help you. diets are not bullshit if they are properly constructed. eating healthy is literally as expensive as mcdonalds (if you buy in season).

stop making excuses.

I apologize for posting this, it is not something I normally do, but it hits home for me and needed to be addressed…

This is not the way to inspire change. It is understandable to get worked up over something that upsets us. We are human, and we have emotions. I have written and re-written this several times before posting. That is the important part; self control, regulation, and foresight.

Claiming something is not hate does not make it not hate. If you don’t wish to sound hateful, wait until the emotions have stopped welling through you before saying anything at all. Avoid stereotypes, generalizations, and insults. “MOST of YOU are lazy fucks” is a very hurtful, hateful generalization and accusation. Instead, post with concern and kindness to motivate positive change, offer up a solution to the problem, and don’t attack the people who are most effected by it.

If you see someone struggling, lend them a helping hand. If you were in their position once, show them your empathy and offer to guide them through. Always be kind to one another, especially when you see something that upsets you, because you never know how far a little kindness can reach.

On the subject of obesity, I can guarantee that many of us who are obese are well aware of our mortality and increased risks. Some of us have struggled all of our lives. Some of us don’t have health care. Some of us are bulimic or anorexic. Many of us have co-morbid disorders that create a vicious circle. Some of us who are obese have even attempted our own lives out of sheer desperation. I urge everyone to think of their words carefully around sensitive issues such as this, as those words will mark and follow you.

As for helpful tips, I know many of you have terrible health insurance that will not cover a dietitian (I know mine didn’t). What has been helping me is NOT counting calories. I have a set of measuring cups that stack neatly in my kitchen drawer. When I am hungry, I measure out a serving and eat it. At this point it really doesn’t matter what it is. If you are used to eating three chocolate bars a day, getting rid of chocolate all together is setting you up to fail. I am also making little changes with substitution, such as dark chocolate for milk chocolate. It’s stupid to think a salad is an ample replacement for a burger, but remove the bun on the burger and you remove 150 calories. “Eat this Not that” is a great series of books, but I am sure there are online alternatives.  A timer also helps, as I have hypoglycemia. It reminds me to keep my blood sugar up, but still keeps me from snacking. There are also some great in-bed and in-chair exercises online for those with mobility issues. You may also be able to get food stamps, which double at some grocery stores when buying produce (ask management). Finally, measure in inches, not pounds. You will gain muscle and retain water as your body adjusts; The key is to take it slow. Just like above, making rash decisions will get you nowhere.

(Looking at it objectively I guess the OP did their job, if not at the expense of their own reputation.)

i don’t care about my reputation.

I’m fucking done with tumblr especially glorifying fat people. it’s disgusting and needs to change. “health at every size” is fucking bullshit. “fat is beautiful” is bullshit.

once again, fat does not equal thicc

fat does not equal overweight

fat does not equal plus size

fat DOES equal obese.

there’s so many idiots on here that say “food doesn’t correlate with health” and bullshit like that.

stop killing yourself.

as a former fat person, i have every right to say whatever the fuck to other fat people because guess what

i have a lower risk for dying at 30

there’s very few people in this world right now, that cannot help being fat. and there’s enough that can (AND SHOULD) help it.

Also worth noting is this fat acceptance is only there in America and the UK, no other countries glorify obesity like those places do.

In India average weight for a woman is 110 lbs. Chubby is 160 and over. Obese is over 200.

INDIA’S OBESE IS AMERICA’S AVERAGE.

THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM.

NO OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE ISSUES LIKE THIS.

If America and The UK are the only places with obesity problems then they need to fix it.

inuyasha-universe:

Just imagine an AU where Inuyasha went to live in the future with Kagome and he starts to fight crime and becomes a super hero. 😮

Has this been done before? Because if not it should be a thing.

YES

Especially after that episode where he saved the kid from the burning building and the news was like “Dog man saves kid”
