I feel like a good example of why the “gamer bro” stereotype is massively inaccurate is the reaction to the leaked slides from ninja theory about redesigning Dante. Like, the stereotype gamer bro reaction to “DANTE ISNT A GAY COWBOY!!” would be “you’re damn right he’s no fucking queer!” But literally everyone I know of who the gamer bro stereotype could be applied to reacted with “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT DANTE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A GAY COWBOY”
In DMC3 he literally runs around in leather pants and leather duster with no shirt underneath.
As absurdly flamboyant as possible has always been his style.
DMCV gives him a new weapon that’s a literal fucking demon cowboy hat that makes his enemies explode while he does Jojo poses, the only reason he’s NOT a gay cowboy is the implications he’s shown attraction to women.
