Most writers are not gigantic nerds like Tolkien who obsessively craft every single detail of their world down to creating whole fucking fictional languages and describing everyone’s diet in detail. And even LOTR doesn’t have completely airtight writing.
It’s one thing to complain about major story points making no goddamn sense and breaking existing lore and it’s another to nitpick pointless shit.
Id also blame binge watching. A lot of people have become acustomed to getting their answers in a few hours and not a few weeks and i think people have forgotten that enigma is a key narrative technique. You don’t get to know everything right away or what’s the point in the story?
Imagine these nerds watching Lost when it was still ongoing.
