i love when people blame tumblr for things that have existed for centuries. feminism, nonbinary genders… what fun new decades-old equality movement are we going to blame on a blogging site this week? the abolition of slavery? socialism? stay tuned
Anti-SJW’s do this because they’re literally afraid to take responsibility for their bigoted views. If they just silence anyone who complains about them by labeling people who disagree as a tumblrina SJW they can derail the actual issue. Why?To avoid self reflecting on why they’re repeating bigoted views just a little longer.
“Anti-SJWs are bigots who love to slap labels on people!” said the person who slaps labels on on Anti-SJWs.
Also, if you can be silenced just by an insult, you’re probably not going to make a very good activist.
Also, I’ve seen plenty of anti-SJWs say SJWs are actually harmful to fixing certain problems for minorities, because their approaches are flawed and prejudiced and actively counterproductive. Many antis are in the groups in question.
So anti-SJW’s are the ones who are “afraid to take responsibility for their bigoted views”, even though it’s SJW’s who constantly make excuses for theirs? Interesting.
I also haven’t seen Anti-SJWs claim that Tumblr is the reason for those ideas existing. In fact, it’s commonly spoken about their origins in academia or history.
No, instead, you see people blaming Tumblr for the propagation of such ideologies, as the reason that they are as wide-spread as they are among youth.
But hey, you sure did take down that strawman.

“
This should be fun
“…
feminism …”
Has not existed for centuries.
It certainly has not existed for centuries in the form that is relevant to this comment. Radical feminism, for instance, has only existed since the 1960s.
“…
nonbinary genders …”
Have not existed for centuries in Western societies.
And let’s be honest here, you aren’t talking about the extra “genders” that exist in Austronesian and Polynesian cultures. You’re talking about ideas of gender that have only really shown up in the West in the past 30 years or so. And as for MOGAI genders, the past couple of years.
“ …what fun new decades-old equality movement …“
If you’d said decades you could have been accurate.
But I don’t see any “equality movement” being discussed.
“
the abolition of slavery? “
You could at least have claimed “centuries” for that one…
“
socialism?
“
Wait, did you just call socialism an equality movement?
