My husband went to the grocery store and was gone longer than expected. I called him and he said he went to the grocery store further away because they have certain items that the one closer does not. I said “Oh, that’s fine. You had just been gone a while and I wanted to make sure no one had shot up the grocery store or anything.”

I said that with a straight face and all sincerity. That’s legit where my mind goes now. This is not okay.

Get a shrink.

Paranoia isn’t healthy OP. Your fears are not based in reality. Get help.

Am…am I the only one who thinks OP’s husband is just having an affair and this is how OP is coping?

I’m sorry but what the fuck are you guys on about.

Don’t tell me y’all be saying that shootings barely happen, because that’s asinine.

Mass shootings make up less than 10% of all gun related crimes. It’s just that the media is blowing them up to sow fear.

You have a higher chance of dying in a car accident than you do in a mass shooting.

If the media is blowing it up, then of course it makes sense that people are panicked over it.

Regardless if that’s the case or not, it doesn’t change the fact they happen and they happen frequently. It’s terrifying and it’s super acceptable to be worried.

I just said they make up LESS THAN 10% of all gun related crimes. This means they aren’t happening frequently at all.

Mass shootings are usually done by a small minority of people in gun free zones. What does that tell you? That gun control isn’t working as well as it claims.

Guns don’t kill people. People kill people. And we need to make sure dangerous people are dealt with instead of being focused on WHAT dangerous people are using to commit crimes.
