I think my favorite bit of fandom dissonance around my OTP is when people say that ‘oh, I think Ned and Cat just had a marriage of respect, they didn’t have any passion, Ned respected her but he wasn’t in love with her’ when in their very first second scene in the books, they just finished banging hard enough that Catelyn is thinking about her aching loins. 

THIS!!!! You can love them, hate them, or have no real strong feelings about them whatsoever. But do not try to tell me Ned and Catelyn weren’t “really” in love or that they only had dutiful sex to make kids or some other crazy garbage.

His was the chest that had pillowed her head so many nights.

He longed to sleep again with his arms around his own lady Catelyn.

And we all KNOW what they liked to do before all that snuggling and sleeping! She flat out told us that she found enough love for any woman!

Dude in the first book Maester Lewin even comes into the room and sees them clearly post-sex and is like “OMG okay this is a bad time I have to leave the room” but Cat says it’s okay because he delivered her kids and he can say whatever he needs to. 

Even HE knew they were in love enough to be embarrassed by it.
