A woman saying “I hate men” is not the same, and does not carry the same power as a man saying “I hate women” because men are speaking from a position of power, a position from which their hatred has had real consequences for women for hundreds of years.
A woman saying she hates men comes from no power at all. she’s been crushed beneath the weight of the injustices she’s faced all her life. her hatred isn’t going to have any consequences. It’s not going to get anyone hurt, threatened, harassed, or killed.
female hatred is a cry of frustration while male hatred is physical and psychological violence.
Say you want to be a sexist, that you want to judge people based on their gender instead of their individual personhood, say you’re a hypocrite; and just fucking go.
What if a woman hates women? Is that ok, op? And oh yes, I forgot, no women has ever had power over a man! That mom who abuses her son? He has power over her! Female bosses? No, the male employees have the power! Female governers? Silly, they don’t actually run the town, the men do!
So it’s okay for me to say I hate women because I’ve only ever been abused by women? Such logic.
