Black fucking Panther. Not black enough apparently.
The X-men, an entire comic franchise created as an allegory for the civil rights movement. Y’all don’t even try.
Of course not. Spending a whole five minutes researching would cut into valuable Hot Take™ time. How are they supposed to get NPC Points without exploiting whatever’s in the news?
THE IGNORANT DISRESPECT. Freaking google is so easy to navigate.
Playing devil’s advocate, but isn’t the fact that Stan Lee created BP the equivalent of “But I have a black friend so I’m not racist”?
RIP Stan Lee. Exelsior 😞
There’s more than Black Panther….
I know. I’m just wondering why people always forget that
If the claim is “Stan Lee absolutely opposed non-white superheroes”, you only need one exception.
He also (co) created The Ancient One (Tibetan in comics), Scarlet Witch (Romani), The Falcon, Brother Voodoo, and Bill Foster (Goliath).
The person in the tweet is referring to how he said Peter, in adaptations, should stay white and straight. You know, the character who’s always been white and straight.
Also the annoying thing is there’s literally a canonical black Spider-Man. Like it’s not even that Spider-Man can’t be anything but straight and white, it’s just that Peter Parker is a specific person with specific defining characteristics. Like you can’t have a super-jock ultra popular but kind of stupid Peter Parker either. He also can’t be obese or have an Australian accent. It’s not a very difficult concept to grasp people just wanna play stupid.
SJWs don’t care about Miles or Spider-Gwen because he’s not high-profile enough and they’re not real fans.
Even though they’re both in a movie coming out next month.
They’re parasites, like Venom. They just want to latch onto something that’s already popular and change it.
Them: We want spider man to be gay and black!
Stan: SURE! There’s always more room for great diverse Spideys in the marvel universe! I say EXCELSIOR!
Them: So you’re going to make Peter Parker gay and black?
Stan: Well, no. Peter is exactly who I imagined him to be. I don’t see a reason to change his character, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have another character wear the red and blue spider costume at one point
