I’m average looking at best. Which in and of itself is fine but in an incredibly superficial environment like online dating if you’re not an 8+ you aren’t getting any responses.
It’s okay anyways 90% of people on online dating sites are douche bags only looking for casual sex.
And those 8/10s you keep seeing? Half of them are photoshopped.
I hated everything about online dating. Nobody matched their profile and worst of all, I couldn’t actually get any real dating. It always seemed to jump to a “U up?” Text at 1 AM.
It infuriated me. Requests for dates when denied or unanswered but a hook up was always on the table.
Online marriage sites are just as bad if not worse because at least the dating sites are honest about their intentions. On places like shaadi.com or (community) matrimony you get shit like –
Fathers writing their sons bio/Mothers writing their daughters bio and not even trying to hide it.
People straight up lying about their community/how much money they make/whatever or making fake marriage profiles JUST TO GET THEIR KIDS MARRIED
Already married people on the site
Gold diggers of BOTH genders but male gold diggers are more common
The saddest part is the husband or wife in question isn’t even involved – ALL this wtfery is done by the boys/girls PARENTS and they’re just a pawn for their lies.
No wonder young people these days are so anti marriage.
Online dating is basically the equivalent of a grindfest MMO. The content of the profile is repetitive, the optional pay models are mostly cosmetic, and the matches and replies are incremental rewards that keep you hooked. Also means you have to pick a character class and min-max the shit out of your own profile, while churning out messages at the optimal point between uniqueness and ease of writing. At a certain point you’re not there for your enjoyment anymore, just to see the numbers go up and clear out all the content.
And online marriage sites are old people making characters for their children behind their backs using a walkthrough template “how to make the best character” that they looked at when THEY played the game without being aware that the meta has changed. While also grinding said character on the kids behalf.
And then they act surprised when their kid discovers that a character they had zero input in making is out there on the server and they’ve been saddled with teams they didn’t even know existed hitherto.
