I still enjoy the movies and won’t ever fault anyone else for liking them. But at the same time I can’t help but resent deeply what they did to the characters, especially the main trio. Harry is a lot less witty and charming in them. Hermione had a lot of her flaws and complexity stripped away while getting some traits and scenes stolen from Ron bolted unto her. And of course Ron himself had nearly everything about his character gutted and was basically a lamp the other two dragged around.
