Basically, there are many strong female characters
And they are an inspiration to us all ❤
Remind people of this when they try saying there aren’t strong female characters in media. Cause this is just a small list of somewhat recent animated fare, there are plenty more where that came from. – Purple

I don’t know for you guys, but I noticed that strong female character is more often than not a way to say “female character who had to fight”
Being mentally strong is never seen as a strength and most of strong female character that I know weren’t recognized as such until they had to kick ass. Before, they were hated because they never were taught how to actually fight.
So I make a pass on strong female character to please those people and ask for female character who are actually written as human being until everyone try to treat female character like male character are.
Yeah there are unconventionally strong female characters also. And especially in video games they tend to be typecast as healers and/or mages, which as EVERYONE knows are “weak” because they don’t use swords.
The secretary from ghostbusters didn’t fight but she was very smart in her own way but people didn’t notice her at all. And the remake totally missed the point of her character by giving her a male counterpart as an idiot.
That’s why I don’t like the new Nutcracker movie because they could have made Clara a white mage (which would make sense for her character while also giving her a power), but instead they made her a sword user and went for the “STRONK WOMYN” route.
