“Trenders don’t exist.”

Me: *tries to find regular post while wading through the swamp of blue undercuts as the titanium supports of tumblr’s foundations groans under the stress of a tempest of mogai content*

“wow i sure do hate people exploring their identity” is all I can hear when people criticize “““mogai”““

Transsexualism is a neurological disorder, not an identity. Just like sexuality, it is innate.

Terfs and truscum both think we’re mentally ill lol, what a coincidence

A) Neurological disorders and mental illnesses are not the same thing

B) What’s bad about having a mental illness anyway? I have depression. I take pills for it and do CBT and go to therapy and shit. Doesn’t in any way define me as a person, it’s just a problem I have. Same with transsexualism. I have, I take pills for it and do a lot of other stuff. Neither will ever truly go away and it’s all about doing your best to minimize symptoms, whether by altering your body or your behavior or other shit.

Wanting to alter your body isn’t a fucking disorder

Dis-order, something out of order. It’s not a very usual impulse to be of the opposite sex. Most people are just fine the way they are, genitals and secondary sexual characteristics-wise.

Seems someone is just angry about a word.

@mitoticcephalopod

Would you still say all that if instead of transsexualism it was autism?

Autism isn’t a disorder either. Functioning differently from neurotypicals isn’t an illness or a disorder, wanting different things from cis people isn’t an illness or a disorder

Why are you so taboo about the word “disorder”? It’s not a bad thing.

I got diagnosed with dyslexia in elementaty school and it’s a learning *disorder*. None of the professionals(you have to do through a therapist, a social worker and a special needs teacher) treated it like a bad thing. They would just explain you how it’s different.

And you don’t cure disorders you MANAGE them. You manage autism and dyslexia with therapy, you manage gender dysphoria by transitioning. It’s the same principle.
