This basically sums it up

Look at the economy and the world we live in. It’s a mess. We didn’t create the mess and because of the generations before us, we can barely afford to live independently. But they’re constantly comparing us to where they were at 25, forgetting how different it is now. People don’t talk in person much anymore, jobs don’t pay enough to survive, we’re getting shot by police for no reason, we’re unpacking childhood traumas while experiencing new ones…Yes, we’re very much depressed.

The unemployment rate is the lowest it’s been in half a century. The economy is actually booming.

Over 90% of police shootings are found to be completely justified shootings of armed criminals.

To live independently, one needs a career. Get one, the money will come. I’m 30 and was a homeowner at 21 and no I didn’t come from any form of wealth.

We all have childhood and adult issues. Just now we dwell on them and blame them whenever we struggle.

Move forward in life. Leave the depression behind. Easier said than done I know, but you’ll find yourself with much less depression.

Yup. You just gota be sick of being depressed. And move the fuck on

Ever spend time with those who are chronically depressed? They’re often people who never go outside, spend most of their time glued to technology, and have incredibly poor diets with no exercise. They’ve also been jacked on anti-depressants since they were 12 because they supposedly can’t produce serotonin.

Most of family is like this. They are always pushing for me to get “help” and medication.

I’m the only one who truly goes outside, is still moving on in career, and has the best eating exercise habits of them. I’m also the only one who doesn’t see a therapist at least once a month and take some form of anti-depressants. Coincidence?

Oh yeah and no less than 3 of said family members tried to commit suicide while on anti-depressants. All by ironically trying to overdose on said anti-depressants.

Go outside people. You have far more control on your outlook on life than you believe.

…I think that might often be an effect rather than a cause.

its a recursive effect. it is caused by depression, but it compounds the effects of it, thus contributing.

It’s a chicken and egg scenario, and yes a lot of people who are having trouble supporting themselves do unemployable majors, and they is a factor.
