Yeah I think it’s interesting how it went from “the Harry Potter political analogies are dumb so stop doing that” to “READ ANOTHER BOOK OMG WHY DO YOU TALK ABOUT THAT ONE?!”, like seriously guys, lighten up a little and let people enjoy things.

The point of “Read another book” is “Stop mentioning a popular children’s book series to make oversimplified analogies to complex political issues” because most often, people were like “This political side I don’t like is just like the Death Eaters and Voldemort and this side that I agree with is like Dumbledore’s Army!”

But drawing a comparison with something innocuous like “I’m going to be a better person than my father was,” “Oh, just like this character from this book series I really like!” that’s fine! That’s different!
