There is good content in venom 2016 too. In fact, the writer of it specifically says he wanted it to be seen as romantic. It’s in issue 165, Eddies clubhouse section second column near the bottom. It’s truly canon. When the writer says it is there is no mistake. How anyone can deny it after that is beyond me.
