i think the greatest irony of the whole “fatphobia” thing is that americans eat the most disgusting, greasy, unhealthy food and then will scream for hours about how theyre oppressed for it !! you just ate like 6000 calories in one sitting in the form of a milkshake and you think that the malnourished, starving child in the global south has privilege over you bc they can fit into an airplane seat !! what the fuck !!
I legitimately believe there is a conspiracy in the USA that restaurants feed healthy people big portions on purpose.
I’m 118 lbs, which in India is average weight, but in America that is considered thin. Every time I visit America and go to a food place, I am always given one size bigger than what I ask for. I ask for a small, they give me a medium. I ask them “are you sure this is a small” and I get told “we have a bigger one if you want.” I have sometimes considered asking for child meals, but the child meals are almost always nonveg, which I can’t eat for religious reasons.
I’ve seen posts circling the internet that confirm this theory. Like the Tumblr meme which goes “when those skinny bitches order diet coke I give them a regular” and the infamous Virgie Tovar cake video where she says “just take the cake slice you’re given asking for a small one is oppression.”
It makes me never want to eat outside if I know that everyone is trying to make me an unhealthy blob.
