Its absolutely true that Rey is not a self insert or a Mary Sue character and i will fight anyone who says otherise. (i actually kinda did some 7 months ago on quora. Wrote a very unknown post about it lol)

Its also true that despite that she is presented in a way which frames her as infallible. No other character is afforded a framing like this whether it be Finn, Luke, Kylo, Poe, Anakin.. Heck! The plot didn’t even spare Rose (DJ calling out her part in the system she hates) and Padme either(her infamous silence on Tuscan massacre). That is why, if we forget other trilogy as precedence , we have no qualms or doubts about Rey or have any outline for her character growth beside vague framework( adulthood stage of trilogy, third movie has dark side reckoning etc. The movie itself never explicitly calls out Rey on anything)

This is a writing problem.

Yeah exactly, a reason why people misinterpret her as a Sue is because she doesn’t get called out on a lot of the mistakes she makes. 

I really hope the third movie fixes this.
