It’s pretty incredible how we all just… forgot how Stephenie Meyer misrepresented an actual Native American tribe’s culture and beliefs? Or how the last book functioned as anti-abortion propaganda? Like we’re willing to overlook BOTH of those things because “criticizing twilight is internalized misogyny against teenage girls” now?

Because a lot of the twilight hate came from a place of misogyny. I also dgaf at how problematic twilight is at this point. It’s been years since it came out. Give it a rest.

Not so much misogyny but it came from a place of “eww everything I liked in middle school is cringy. I’m in HIGH SCHOOL now and I’m matured so Twilight sucks ass.” 

Now those same high schoolers are adults, and young adults look back on the things they liked as kids with rose coloured glasses. That’s why they’re saying Twilight didn’t deserve its criticism anymore (when it did but again it’s 2018 that horse is long dead).
