Nigel Uno hates having “normal” fun, but he’ll do it for his friends.

I am really tired of some cartoons and their fandoms so I am bringing one up from the grave that was actually worth watching in my opinion. C:KND was actually quite a progressive show when my siblings were kids. 

I am also stressed and i watch stupid shit when I get stressed out. 

But let’s talk about TWO “day off”episodes shall we. 

one is called B.U.T.T. and will be the one I’m gonna focus on. 

In a few episodes we see that Nigel absolutely does not have fun unless he’s on a mission, or coming up with specs for anti-adult tyranny stuff. In B.U.T.T. he’s dropped off by his friends at the beach, which he hates, which his friends knows he hates but they do it anyway because its canon that he overworks himself, in whatever kid capacity that means to the KND. 

The rest doesn’t matter, but at the end his friends are playing video games. Kuki is winning btw. and he invites them out for a beach day because he almost lost them. He’s willing to go to a place he HATES because his friends like it. iT’S  not FUN FOR HIM BUT IT IS TO THEM AND THAT’S WHAT’S IMPORTANT TO HIM.

and in another episode, he has to go to an amusement park because his parents planned this family outing. and we get two-ish scenes where he’s just standing there with this tiger poking him asking him if he is having fun. the joke is that he isn’t having fun. Though he does leave in a chipper mood; but I think he was looking forwards to something else. whatever that is the episode doesn’t really say.  

Then we have the fishing episode where Nigel has to do a musical instrument off with another kid who’s dad left for like ten minutes to get food. Nigel isn’t having fun, he thinks the whole thing is a chore and I think he hated every moment of it until he and his dad got an understanding going. in fact, they do fish at the end. 

but its funny because his dad complains about Nigel always off having fun with the KND- in the decommissioning episode. they’re fishing. Nigel does this because his dad wants some time with him and its “fun”. he hates it but he’ll do it for his dad. 

I just love the idea of a ten year old kid who hates having :”fun” but delights in others having that fun instead and does it for them.
