“You can’t write dark fiction, someone might use it to groom someone!”
“You can’t write dark fiction, it might make people think rape is okay!”
I suppose no one can sell or wear short skirts now because those make people think rape is okay, too? Nah, all you rape apologists and innocence fetishists want is to place blame anywhere other than on rapists, because you can’t control rapists but you can get off on power from bullying good people.

This is a hugely important point. If they assigned the blame where it really lies, they’d have to admit that it’s impossible to control to whom bad things happen and that yes, bad things can happen to them (again), no matter what ‘precautions’ they or the people around them take, no matter how ‘aware’ they are. It’s much easier to assign blame to a group they can at least somewhat control/influence and then feel safer by a) clinging to that narrative, and b) bullying those evil people.
ETA: I think maybe that is also a reason for the appalling lack of empathy when they’re spewing suicide baits, violent fantasies etc., or when they learn someone got psychological problems due to their bullying, or even committed suicide (as I’ve seen at least once). It makes them feel powerful, because in their perception they managed to ‘punish’ those who are ‘responsible’ for bad things happening.
