Raise your hand if you thought he was totally going to stride over to Rey, take her by the waist and kiss her senseless. I mean look at all the heat and passion rolling off of him…he discards that staff and his gaze turns purposeful, like he sees with absolute clarity. He is not a man of doubts here. 

I noticed that that was the feeling/assumption being set up… Because “Smooch Of Victory” (and it’s less PG iteration, “Glad-To-Be-Alive-Sex”) is a common as all hell trope. But I didn’t really think that it would be fulfilled. Like how the turbolift scene got just this shy of an “Almost Kiss”. Just didn’t feel like they were quite there yet. At least not mutually, because as we see right away, Rey was definitely not there yet, lol. 

It felt like they were teasing the audience tbh “OMG they’re gonna kiss- aaand they won’t!”

And then probably in ep IX they will say “was all the teasing worth it?”
