The idea that all men have to be specifically taught not to rape, is one of the stupidest tropes trotted out in recent memory. The fact that so many men feel the need to virtue signal by spouting it … like “yes, every man is a rapist down deep unless we enlighten the brutes” is ridiculous and insulting to the enormous majority of men who have zero inclination to rape someone.

Right on its heels is the naive idea that any suggestion that people should take responsibility for securing their own safety by making wise choices is “victim blaming”. Holding rapists 100 %responsible for raping people and suggesting that maybe it isn’t a good idea to drink yourself into a blackout in a room full of people you don’t know – are not mutually exclusive concepts.
