Books that people read romantically but shouldn’t because they’re missing the point:
- Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
- Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
- The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
That’s your opinion.
there’s nothing romantic about a pedophile rapist, the senseless murder-suicide of teenagers because families can’t get their shit together or the hypocrisy of the roaring 20s
FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT
When I was in school RJ was taught to us as a cautionary tale against dating young. My English teacher at the time screamed her throat hoarse about how we “don’t know what love is, and when you THINK you know what love is and act upon your feelings, your families suffer for it and you cause pain for others and yourself.”
I don’t know why it is seen as the epitome of true love.
