democrats leech their votes from the most marginalized classes of society by dangling their basic needs in front of them and using fear based tactics to instill the idea that for poor people, racialized people, people persecuted for their gender or sexuality Dems are the only choice. and when Democrats have usurped the value of those votes, they stand back and allow the persecution of those same people for the sake of maintaining the status quo. if you don’t think that’s sinister in every definition of that term it’s because you’ve never had to face that danger and probably don’t have a place in this conversation

It’s kinda true. Some Dems have even openly said they would take a pro life stance if it meant they can get more votes. A lot of times it feels like it’s more about getting votes for the Dems than actually helping the marginalized.
But luckily there’s been more and more progressive/democratic socialist candidates on the ballot as dems, so I’m going to seek out those candidates and vote for them. Not just give my vote to any barely left of center old bag the Dems want me to vote for.

My favorite thing is how people tell me “Sure, Manchin is pro life, anti gay, anti immigrant, votes with Trump 61% of the time, and voted to swear in Kavanaugh! BUT WE NEED EVERY DEMOCRAT WE CAN GET TO FLIP THE SENATE!!”
